Seeing the Historical Significance and Stigma Removal
Cannabis has been cultivated by humans for longer than wheat. It amazes me how, after all that time, it somehow acquired a bad reputation, and people thought you had to control a plant as if it were a dangerous weapon.
I’m passionate about this plant and sharing my knowledge of growing it. I hope that as more people learn to grow, we can slowly remove the stigma attached to this helpful plant.
Advocating for Responsible Use and Research
I believe cannabis is misunderstood. There are people who genuinely think it’s a magical plant that can help with anything, while on the other hand, there are individuals hell-bent on stereotyping cannabis users, scaring those on the fence who want to genuinely explore the plant for its health benefits. For many years, funding for cannabis research has been historically limited due to its Schedule I classification.
Additionally, the historical stigma around cannabis amplifies skepticism towards its potential benefits. I personally believe cannabis has huge potential that’s yet to be explored. However, I’m also aware of the potential side effects of the plant. That’s why I’ve dedicated my life to encouraging responsible recreational cannabis use and ensuring testing meets the highest criteria.
Aiding Personal Sleep Improvement
Due to the pressure at my job, I have always had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep—too much anxiety and stress. Since cannabis became legal in our state, I have been using it to help calm me at night.
Absolutely nothing had worked before. Cannabis is the only thing that allows me to get a good night’s rest. I now feel so much better each day. With so many others going through these same issues, how can you not love cannabis or at least want to try it?
Honoring a Cousin’s Legacy Through Advocacy
I’m passionate about cannabis because of my warrior of a cousin, Darren Saunders; may he rest in peace. Darren had spent over a decade of his life advocating for a company, Viragen, that he first learned about while working as a stockbroker on Wall Street. Despite the incredible promise of the drug, the FDA did not approve its use in the U.S., and the company’s stock was manipulated until it went under.
Around that time, Darren developed cancer. He self-medicated with cannabis, along with prescribed Marinol, all while being heavily involved in a documentary called The Wall Street Conspiracy, which exposed these manipulations of Viragen’s stock. As I watched his body waste away, I saw how cannabis provided the relief Darren needed as he faced his end with the same bravery he showed throughout his life. It struck me as wildly immoral for cannabis to be illegal when it provides so much more than just a good time.
After his passing, I’ve followed Darren’s example and have lent my talents to Empire State NORML, the Drug Policy Alliance, and Goldleaf to help normalize cannabis use and remove legal obstructions. Simply put, cannabis helps people, and I aim to be part of the solution.
Witnessing Cannabis’ Transformative Journey
I’m passionate about cannabis because I’ve witnessed its transformative journey from societal taboo to a powerful agent of positive change. Over the years, I’ve seen the stigma surrounding cannabis erode as its medicinal benefits become increasingly recognized and accepted.
This plant has the potential to alleviate suffering for individuals facing chronic pain, anxiety, and various health conditions. Beyond its therapeutic applications, the cannabis industry has become a source of economic growth, job creation, and innovation.
My passion stems from being part of a movement that not only de-stigmatizes a misunderstood plant but also contributes to the well-being of countless individuals and fosters a thriving industry.
Viewing Cannabis’ Therapeutic and Economic Potential
Cannabis, also known as marijuana, has been a controversial topic for decades. Some view it as a harmful drug with no medical benefits, while others see it as a natural plant with numerous therapeutic properties.
As someone who is passionate about cannabis, I believe that this plant has the potential to bring about positive change and improve people’s lives in many ways. Cannabis has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. It contains compounds called cannabinoids, which interact with our body’s endocannabinoid system to produce various effects. Research has shown that these compounds can help alleviate symptoms of numerous medical conditions such as chronic pain, anxiety, epilepsy, and even cancer. This is one of the main reasons why I am so passionate about cannabis—its ability to provide relief and improve the quality of life for those suffering from debilitating illnesses.
Not only does cannabis have potential therapeutic benefits, but it also has a rich cultural history. It has been used in various cultures for spiritual rituals and ceremonies, as well as for recreational purposes. This plant has been a significant part of human history, and as someone who is passionate about its potential, I find it fascinating to learn about its past uses and cultural significance.
In addition to the medicinal and cultural aspects, cannabis also has enormous economic potential. With the growing legalization of marijuana in many countries, there is a booming industry emerging around this plant. From cultivation to distribution to product development, the cannabis industry has created numerous job opportunities and boosted local economies. This is another reason why I am passionate about cannabis—its potential to create positive economic impacts.
Overall, my passion for cannabis stems from its diverse range of uses and potential benefits.
Exploring Medicine, Culture, and Social Change
I am passionate about cannabis for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, I strongly believe in the medicinal benefits of this plant. From pain relief to anxiety management, cannabis has been shown to have many therapeutic properties.
Additionally, I am fascinated by the history and cultural significance of cannabis. It has been used for thousands of years by different cultures all over the world for religious, spiritual, and medicinal purposes. I find it intriguing how a plant can have such a profound impact on human society.
As someone who is environmentally conscious, I appreciate the sustainability of cannabis. It is a renewable resource that can be used for paper, textiles, fuel, and more. Its versatility makes it an attractive alternative to other materials that are harmful to the environment.
On a personal level, I have also experienced the positive effects of cannabis in my own life. It has helped me manage chronic pain and anxiety, allowing me to live a more fulfilling and productive life. But perhaps most importantly, I am passionate about cannabis because of the potential it holds for social change. The criminalization of cannabis has disproportionately affected marginalized communities and perpetuated systemic injustices.
As attitudes towards cannabis continue to evolve and legalization efforts gain momentum, I am hopeful that we can create a more equitable and just society for all. In conclusion, my passion for cannabis stems from its multifaceted benefits – as a medicine, a cultural symbol, an environmentally-friendly resource, a personal aid, and a catalyst for social change.
Becoming a Muse for Creativity
Cannabis is more than just a plant or a drug to me. It is a source of inspiration, creativity, and healing. I have been using cannabis for both recreational and medicinal purposes for over a decade, and I have witnessed its positive effects on myself and others.
As a writer, I rely on cannabis to spark my imagination and enhance my expression. Cannabis helps me overcome writer’s block, explore new ideas, and craft engaging stories. It also helps me relax, focus, and enjoy the process of writing.
Lastly, I would say that cannabis is a natural gift that deserves respect, appreciation, and legalization. I also believe that cannabis is a powerful tool that can benefit many people if used responsibly and wisely.
Combining Personal and Relational Benefits
I’m passionate about cannabis for a variety of reasons. Years back, my girlfriend had breast cancer, and it was the only thing that really helped her while going through chemo and radiation to deal with the nausea and lack of appetite. With pharmaceuticals, they’d give her one thing, which didn’t even work that well, and would cause three other side effects for which she’d need additional medications. Cannabis just really helped her with no side effects.
Beyond that, personally, I typically use it at the end of the day before bed. It helps me sleep; it also tends to make me more thoughtful or empathetic. At the end of the day, while relaxing or falling asleep, it kind of helps me see things in a different way in terms of how I used my day, how I treated people, or the types of interactions I had with people, etc. Typically, in a way for the better—e.g., “Oh, I should have been nicer to that person,” or “Maybe I shouldn’t have said that,” etc.
