Strengthens Our Resilience
I view change as a positive force that challenges us to step out of our comfort zone and confront new situations. At first, dealing with change can be stressful, but it strengthens our resilience, develops adaptability skills, and teaches us how to overcome obstacles. Exposing ourselves to different perspectives, people, and circumstances expands our horizons and gives us a more open-minded outlook on life.
Two years ago, I decided to change my career path. I’d been considering making such a move earlier, but my baby was little and—for some reason—I convinced myself that I had to wait for “a better moment.” Wrong! Luckily, I woke up one day with an enlightening, empowering thought: “The moment is now!” And I followed it.
A career switch has been one of my best decisions ever. I haven’t regretted it even for a second. My current job gives me tons of satisfaction. I love what I do as it combines my research skills with creative writing. A professional match made in heaven!

Fosters Growth
Change is good because it fosters growth, innovation, and adaptation. Embracing change allows individuals and organizations to evolve, stay relevant, and overcome obstacles. A time I sought change was when I pivoted my career from a traditional corporate job to entrepreneurship.
While the transition was challenging, it opened up new opportunities for personal and professional development. As an entrepreneur, I gained valuable skills, built a business aligned with my passion, and experienced a sense of fulfillment from creating something meaningful. Embracing change empowered me to take control of my future and lead a more purpose-driven life.

Boosts Performance and Productivity
Encouraging change is crucial because it’s through change that we grow. Earlier in the year, implementing an online skill-development program through Udemy Business was suggested. This particular platform offers a wide array of courses that cater to diverse needs and interests, but it’s important to pick one that fits your needs.
Scheduling the team’s self-study sessions for Friday afternoons was decided, as it’s a perfect way to end the workweek and to encourage everyone to take on this paid opportunity to learn new skills.
After a couple of months, the team not only saw a boost in their overall performance and productivity but also in their confidence. Some sought to build on their strengths, while others took on new challenges to overcome weaknesses. Overall, allowing team members to choose what they wanted to learn not only boosted our internal culture but also helped us tackle business goals and better adapt to the ever-changing market.

Prevents Stagnancy
Change is good simply because stagnancy is bad. If there is no change, there will be no innovation, development, or evolution. While the outcomes and implications of changes may not always be desirable, changes in life and in anything make it more exciting.
That is why change is loved; it drives one to continue innovating and exploring new things. The biggest change that was made was quitting a high-stress job in the financial services industry in July 2019 to pursue side hustles. The decision to become a full-time entrepreneur and blogger has been one of the best decisions, as it has provided more time for family and personal growth. The income has also been higher than it ever was, enabling the payment of all debts.
Now, the aim is to also change other people’s lives by advocating the F.I.R.E. movement and educating them about the many ways of becoming financially independent, so they can change their financial situations and live a better life.

Fortifies Adaptability
Change serves as an essential catalyst for innovation and adaptability, values I hold in high regard. There was a time our company had to undergo a significant restructuring phase. This change initially created a ripple of unease, but I perceived it as an opportunity for growth.
As a leader, I had to show resilience and model adaptability, aligning my team to the new organizational structure swiftly, which included taking on additional responsibilities. This challenging experience reaffirmed my belief that change, albeit uncomfortable, ultimately fortifies an organization’s capability to pivot and thrive amidst unpredictable circumstances.

Helps Overcome Fear
Starting your own business can be a scary prospect. There are a lot of unknowns, and you have to rely on yourself for everything. That’s why I think change is good.
When I started my business, I felt overwhelmed. I knew I had a lot to learn about being an entrepreneur, and I wasn’t sure if I had what it took. But I also knew that if I didn’t try, I would always wonder, “What if?” And I’m so glad I took the chance. I’ve learned so much about myself, and I’m proud of the company I’ve built. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t taken that leap of faith.

Refreshes Our Physical and Mental Health
Change is not only good for your professional growth, but it is also good for your mental and physical well-being.
Being a doctor, I have always recommended my clients, and even my close family and friends, to travel so that they can have a change of place to refresh their minds and body. As things change, you gain clarity on what truly matters, and you can gain clarity about your life goals.
The effects of a change can have far-reaching consequences. Everything, even your relationships, is vulnerable to this. So, it’s better to accept change with open arms and a positive mindset to make the most out of it.
