Work/Life Balance

I wasn’t taught the importance of work-life balance, and like many, I worked 80 hours a week until I burned out. It was a wake-up call for me, and I have dedicated myself to helping others find balance. My passion became my business: improving the quality of people’s lives through coaching, training, consulting, and writing. I’m pleased to see some improvements in moving the needle, but work-life balance isn’t a nice-to-have but a must-have!

Work-life balance doesn’t mean less productivity but rather increased engagement and achievements. Working longer hours shouldn’t be praised. Work smarter! Leaders must show the way and be examples of work-life balance. Work comes home and our issues at home show up at work. It’s time to address it all because one’s entire life matters.

Education

I was extremely lucky growing up in Potomac, Maryland – which was named by Forbes years ago as one of the most educated small towns in the United States. I was fortunate enough to graduate from the University of Virginia and then Harvard Business School as a result of growing up in a community that valued, encouraged, and provided clear paths toward higher education.

Not every child has the advantages that I had growing up, and that’s why I’ve always been passionate about providing more educational opportunities to more people. Education is what opened so many doors for me and gave me the tools to launch my own business. I want to see more people – all people – granted such opportunities.

Learning for the Sake of Learning

Learning isn’t always academic or professional; it can just be for the fun of it. Acquiring new information not only helps you to expand your horizons, but it can also change your view on the things you already know.

With new knowledge comes a chance at a new perspective, and a deeper insight on a topic that you may have only understood at its surface value. Best of all, the opinion you form with what you learn will be much more your own, when compared to the opinion you develop when someone else is narrating things for you.

Simply put, the more you know, the better off you’ll be. Learning new things should always be something people should be passionate about; it enhances both you and the world around you.

Writing

One of my passions is writing. I have always loved the power of words and the way they can evoke emotion, convey ideas, and communicate meaning. I love the way writing can be used to connect with others and share stories, whether it be through poetry, fiction, nonfiction, or even technical writing. It gives me a sense of fulfillment when I am able to express myself in a clear and effective way, and I feel like it’s a way to connect with people and make a difference in the world.

I have been writing as a hobby for many years, and it has been a great source of comfort, inspiration, and self-expression for me. I am passionate about the craft of writing, and I am always looking for ways to improve my skills and expand my horizons. Whether it be through reading, writing workshops, or online resources, I am always seeking out new ways to improve my writing and make an impact in the world.

Freedom of Expression

I am passionate about freedom of expression and the ability to express oneself fully. I love being able to share my thoughts and opinions with others, and I love being able to express myself through art. I want everyone to be able to share their stories, their thoughts, and their lives with others.

Outdoors

One of my biggest passions is the outdoors. I love exploring nature and seeing the beauty it has to offer. Going for hikes, camping, or even just going for a walk in the park brings me immense joy and peace. Whenever I’m out in nature, I feel completely connected and alive.

Nature can be so healing; whether you’re dealing with a stressful day or just need to get away from it all, spending time outdoors is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Not only does nature have calming effects, but it also helps bring clarity and perspective. I love being able to take a step back and just appreciate the beauty of the world around us. Nature never fails to amaze me and make me appreciate the small moments. It’s also a great way to stay active, get in some exercise, and still have fun.

Whether you’re running, swimming, biking, or even just taking a leisurely stroll, there are plenty of ways to explore the outdoors while staying fit. Exploring nature is something I will never tire of!

Being Able to Inspire Others

While personal achievements and goals are an excellent way to maintain one’s drive, to me it has always been about sharing my journey with others. I am passionate about achieving my goals and sharing my lessons to inspire others in their path. When I can do this, it gives me a sense of fulfillment, and this is truly what I currently feel passionate about.

Art

My art allows me to create anything with any emotion I’m experiencing and express myself through it. With just a few brush strokes, I can express my rage, despair, and frustration. Whatever funny or bizarre the artwork turns out to be, it still relieves the stress on my back and makes me feel peaceful and joyful again.

Art isn’t just about creating a beautiful work of art; it’s about creating something that makes you happy, transports you to your happy place, and helps you block out all the stresses of life. It’s not only art that has this power. Writing, making music, or any other kind of creativity helps you express yourself and break free from the constraints of negativity and tension in everyday life. If what you enjoy doing doesn’t harm others, then go ahead and do it! Do it right away!

Languages

I am incredibly passionate about languages. Ever since I was very young, I have been fascinated by how languages work and the beauty of different ways to express the same thing. This passion has driven me to study a range of languages – from Spanish to Arabic and French – in pursuit of fluency and the ability to communicate with people from around the world.

I love the challenge of mastering a new language, as well as the sense of accomplishment that comes with it. It also allows me to discover different cultures and perspectives, which I find enriching and eye-opening. Learning languages has truly changed my life for the better, and I look forward to continuing this journey!

My Wife’s Happiness and Career Success

I am passionate about my wife’s happiness and her career success. The reality is this: We are in an interracial marriage, and as someone who does not normally fit the mold as a husband, people often do not know we are married. And I often get to see the way the world treats her like a fly on the wall.

I have noticed throughout her career that she is often treated differently, her animated nature viewed as aggressive, and I have helped her with the strange things I have heard bosses and peers say to her. There was literally one job that wanted to put her office in a broom closet. She agreed to it. But me knowing from career experience what that boss was “really doing,” I got forced into a passionate advocate role for her career to put a stop to this type of nonsense. It is a passion born out of love but also a passionate hatred for those who mistreat others with a smile.

I’d do anything to further her career. She deserves it. Why? I said so. She is my wife and has a heart of gold.

Astrophotography

I am passionate about astrophotography because there is something truly magical about being able to photograph distant galaxies, nebulae, and other celestial objects, and it can be a truly transformative experience. Astrophotography also gives me a sense of connection to the larger cosmos. I love the challenge of astrophotography, as it requires a combination of technical knowledge and creativity.

Astrophotography is a rewarding hobby that has greatly enhanced my sense of wonder and appreciation for the universe. Seeing the breathtaking beauty of the cosmos through the lens of a camera has made me feel small but also deeply connected. It has also given me a greater appreciation for the complexity and majesty of the universe. Astrophotography has also had a personal impact on me by inspiring me to learn more about the science behind the photos I take.

Astrophotography has been a deeply enriching and transformative experience for me. This is briefly why I have such passion for it.

Being An Entrepreneur

Cheesy, obvious answer, but I am passionate about being successful as an entrepreneur. More specifically, I’m passionate about setting up something and doing whatever it takes to make it successful.

The strategizing, the implementation of tools to improve the chances of making it successful, and the work that goes into it along the way is what I am really passionate about. I love doing other things away from work and I need those things as well, but most of them are ways to recharge and refresh myself before getting back to what I’m really passionate about: my professional success.

It’s a big thing for many people and the online world allows us to reach out and try to take it, if we want it. I want it, and that’s my biggest passion!

Marketing

I’ve always been good at pursuing my passions, so I spend a lot of time researching marketing. It’s perfect for creative types, and I enjoy designing and implementing strategies to work around Google’s algorithm. The continual updates keep us searching for the optimal match for the website. Although everyone agrees that relevant content and concise blogs are the keys to ranking, every website has a different approach to incorporating these elements on the SERP result.

Exploring and Discovering New Places

I am passionate about the outdoors. I love to explore and discover new places, whether it is hiking through a national park or camping in a remote corner of the wilderness. I find joy in soaking up nature’s beauty and learning more about the different environments around me. I enjoy exploring new trails and camping sites, learning more about the plants and animals I encounter along the way. Being out in nature encourages me to stay active, physically and mentally. It is also a great way to spend time with family and friends, creating lasting memories.

Business Mentorship

My passion is seeing businesses grow, realize their potential, and be impactful to their customers and employees. This passion arose from my first venture owning a business when I was 13. I would collect baseball cards and resell them to my friends, who would then sell them to others. Essentially, I became a wholesaler and worked with a retail team. I became particularly concerned about my “retailers” who couldn’t move numbers like the others. I would train them on how to sell better, and through that, my passion for business mentorship grew. Later, I joined a business school, specialized in marketing and business development, and have since grown to start SEOAnt, where I now help e-commerce businesses grow.
