SHRM Foundation Academic Scholarship
As someone who has researched HR scholarships, one great option available for students looking to get into HR is the SHRM Foundation Academic Scholarship. This scholarship is available to current SHRM members who are enrolled in an HR-related undergraduate or graduate program at a regionally accredited institution. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (undergrad) or 3.5 (graduate) and must provide transcripts, answer short essay questions, and submit a resume and one letter of reference.
The scholarship provides a one-time award of up to $2,500 for undergraduates and $5,000 for graduates, paid directly to the institution for tuition and fees. While the scholarship doesn’t cover expenses related to room, board, books, or equipment, it can be a great financial help for students pursuing an HR career. The SHRM Foundation offers several named grants for which students applying will be considered if they’re eligible.
