Hire a Voice-Acting Coach

Voice-acting in itself is quite dynamic and covers a range of different ways to modulate your voice and emote through it. While in-depth study requires a lot more time and dedication, getting a voice-acting coach to take you through the basics can be an easier alternative. Moreover, you can always personalize the program and ask them to train you in something specific that you’re interested in, in this case, meditation music.

Start a Youtube Channel

Start a YouTube channel and go nuts! There are many meditation videos on YouTube that everyday creators made on a whim, so why would you be different? Take some deep breaths and get comfortable, and make sure your body positioning lends itself to the type of relaxation you’re trying to convey. During your editing process, be sure to get rid of any unwanted noise in the background. There are many automation tools that can help with this. Once you build a solid following, you can start promoting your services on Fiverr and other creator websites.

Practice by Referring to Other Meditation Tracks

Voice acting in itself encompasses many different styles, and narrowing down on the one you want to emulate is very important. Meditation tracks call for voice actors to channel a soothing and calm emotion and the best way you can replicate this in your own practice is by listening to a number of meditation tracks and songs to see how the experts do it. From there it’s all about taking key pointers and implementing them into your own routine.

Develop a Strong Network

Attend voice acting workshops or classes, or look for online courses, establishing contacts and mentors along the way. Join a voice acting community or online forum and start networking. Then be sure to record a voice reel and submit it to voice acting agencies, ideally through warm introductions from your new contacts.

Find Your Unique Style

While most guided meditations use a similar narrative style, you’ll always notice subtle qualities of the voice actor shine through. Refining this style is what will set you apart from others and it can only come through practice. By recording and listening to your own audio meditation recordings, you can easily discern what techniques work best to amplify the soothing nature of your voice and keep building on that.

Learn Audio Recording

Voice actors for meditation tracks are in high demand at the moment as more people look for ways to focus while working, sleeping, or studying. To become a voice actor for such content, it is important to start from the point of recording and production. The next step is to open an account on a video or audio sharing platform or open a podcast and start sharing your content with your target audience. It may also help to learn a bit of digital marketing or enroll in a monthly membership program with a digital agency.

Start With Gig Work

Getting started in a new industry always has its hiccups, but no matter what avenue you’re pursuing, the best way to get started is to find others aligned with your goals and start getting involved. If you want to be a voice actor, specifically for meditation tracks, sign up with a couple of the organizations for voice acting and create a profile that lists your interests in meditation. Start creating samples of your voice for others to hear your talent and skill. It might take a little while, but if there’s a demand for your unique voice, then gig work should start steadily trickling in. Remember, the barriers you believe exist between yourself and your desired career are mostly illusory. Everything made is made by regular people, just like yourself, who had the bravery to become a creator.
