Empowering Voices Through Publishing
Publishing empowers individuals to share their unique voices, stories, and expertise with the world, and books have the power to inspire, educate, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. I understand the challenges many face with self-doubt and imposter syndrome, and I am committed to supporting aspiring authors with overcoming those barriers. As an award-winning hybrid publisher, my team and I bridge the gap between traditional and self-publishing, making the process accessible and achievable for anyone with a story to tell.
Publishing, for me, is a way to democratize access to knowledge and amplify voices that might otherwise go unheard. I see books as transformative tools that foster personal and professional growth while expanding one’s influence and impact. A natural extension of my work as a professional speaker, publishing allows me to support others with reaching audiences far beyond the room. Through publishing, I transform lives and create opportunities for people to step into their full potential.

Transforming Ideas Into Reality
I’m passionate about publishing because it’s an opportunity to be heard, to share my values, to share articles that my team and I have written, and ultimately to leave a tangible legacy. Publishing has come so far from the days when it was the exclusive domain of media titans like Pulitzer, Hearst, and the like. The Internet leveled the playing field and I’ve been publishing biographies, novels, poetry, media websites, blogs and articles ever since.
My most recent media endeavor is currently on Substack, and focuses on tech at the intersection of diversity and social justice. With publishing open to anyone, everyone can transform their ideas into reality. While that’s good for benevolent authors, it’s not so great for conspiracy theory authors and others who publish fake news. Journalism is the fourth estate and the pen is mightier than the sword.
So, hopefully my passion for publishing is amplified by others who are also publishing about diversity, equality, and social justice. And, will continue to do so, no matter what Trump 2.0 brings.

Sharing Stories To Connect
I’ve always believed that words have the power to change people’s lives, and I’m passionate about publishing because it allows people an opportunity to share their stories and connect with others in unique, wonderful ways. Reading the right story at the right time in your life can make you feel understood, valued, and hopeful. As a reader, I know I’ve had that experience when I’ve read a book and felt seen in ways I hadn’t felt before, and I think that’s what makes publishing so beautiful.
Today, writers can choose to publish their books in so many different ways; they can work with traditional publishers or hybrid publishers, or they can self-publish. Lately, I’ve also seen some authors publish their books a chapter at a time on platforms like Substack. I overall think it’s a positive thing that publishing is becoming more accessible because it means that we get to hear from new voices, which is something that excites me about publishing.
Books give you the chance to find a community, to learn, to laugh, to feel safe, to challenge your view of the world, and to make you a better person. There is a constant stream of new storytellers eager to share their stories and whose work will make an impact, and I’m forever looking forward to hearing the next great story.

Authors are the tip of the spear when it comes to thought leadership and shaping the way people think. A writer’s dad shared this thought with him one day when he was growing up: “Junior, reading makes a broad man. Writing makes an exact man.”
Publishing books is an art form, or a creative endeavor as I see it. As publishers, we carefully curate words into ideas that stick, then wrap those ideas in stunning artwork. If we do our jobs well, then these ideas will carry forward for generations.

I am passionate about publishing because I have a strong voice and background in hunting and conservation. It is important for me to have my voice and the voices of my peers reach out to the world and share the passion we have for living the hunting life. Whether it is upland game hunting where it is all about the dogs and the land we walk or the birds we chase, or big game hunting where we pursue deer through canyons, mountains, or prairies. I grew my brand from a small blog to a digital magazine over the last 18 years so we would have a destination for young writers to explore their passion for writing and content creation to educate and entertain our readers.
