If I am worrying about things in my life or having negative thoughts, I am not going to get a fulfilling workout. And I will probably want to eat foods that don’t support me.

I love to work out and feel the energy moving through me. It fuels me and relaxes me. But if my emotions are clear, thoughts free, and soul full, the impact of that exercise is more powerful.

Science and Youth Transformation in Fitness

My passion for fitness really stems from the science of watching the body adapt and transform throughout the course of a solid workout plan. The body is so unique, intelligently designed, and adaptable.

As a coach, I now work primarily with youth. Watching youth grow a passion for competition and seeing the excitement on their faces when they do something even they didn’t think they could accomplish is what makes the job worth it.

We as individuals are all capable of much more than we ever thought. As the head powerlifting coach at the Youth National Championship and Teen National Championship Team Full Armour Powerlifting, I have coached twelve-year-olds who have squatted 300 lbs, benched 160 lbs, and deadlifted 350 lbs. I tell you that not for bragging rights, but to prove that the impossible is quickly beatable with an understanding of how the body adapts and changes.

Fitness as a Lifesaving Personal Revolution

When I was 16, I was out of shape, weak, and depressed. I saw my friends having fun and going out with beautiful girls while my self-esteem was being destroyed more and more, and I entered a vicious circle from which I could no longer escape. I then vented my frustration by practicing Muay Thai, but since I was out of shape, I also combined weightlifting.

In about one year, my body had totally changed, and I finally started going out and having fun with my friends again. Fitness helped me win the most important battle: the one with myself. Even today, I still consider starting to train the most important decision of my life, without which I wouldn’t be where I am today.
