In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no other profession I can think of that does the most for more people than a registered nurse. That became even more clear based on how many patients they treated and how they boldly and bravely took care of the sick, even as they were being exposed to a virus we knew so little about a few years ago.

That was a display of bravery that we rarely see in the civilian sector. They are required to know so much while having a bedside manner that helps keep patients in various conditions calm and comfortable. It's such a rewarding job—and one with immense value. You're on health care's front lines, and there is no job more important than that.

Whether that be as a journalist, documentary filmmaker, photographer, illustrator, or otherwise—you have the power to reach large groups of people with the stories you choose to tell. There are lots of careers where you can help others. Some require you to have the right mindset, personality, and personal attributes, while others need skills, talents, and maybe professional qualifications.

An excellent example is a therapist, which is suitable for people young or old, male or female. I trained as a therapist when I was in my twenties and found it very rewarding. Every client is different; each one will have a unique problem and background. Even if you help a client who has a problem you have come across a hundred times before, there will be differences. A lot of excellent therapists are totally self-employed.

A therapist can choose to work full-time or part-time. They can work face-to-face or online. They can specialize... I specialize in relationships. Many specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy, depression, anxiety, etc.

If you have had your own personal battles with emotions or life, this may even help you be in tune with your clients and understand them and help them.

With this profession comes great responsibility, but with it comes the satisfaction of knowing you have helped someone else get through one of the most difficult situations they will ever face. This makes being a lawyer one of the most fulfilling professions out there today.

911 dispatchers receive calls from people experiencing emergencies. This position is critical, as they are the first point of contact for those in need. The 911 dispatcher assesses the situation by asking the caller questions, gathering important details, communicating calmly, and dispatching the correct emergency personnel to the caller.

Support workers work with vulnerable individuals or communities, e.g., people with a disability or the elderly, to support them to live their lives and overcome challenges. The type of work in this field is very varied and offers plenty of rewards, for example, helping individuals to achieve their goals and live a fulfilled life.

Inspire Fellow Foodies as a Food Blogger

I have been a food YouTuber and food blogger since 2013. One of my favorite comments I have ever gotten from someone was from a gentleman in Brazil. He responded to my Cinnamon Rolls video by saying, "Thank you so much for this recipe. I learned how to make it and now I have created a business around selling cinnamon rolls." That comment has really stuck out to me; my recipes and videos are literally helping people around the world, not just to learn how to cook, but some turn that knowledge into business opportunities.
