These “Friday 5″ posts are getting tougher to write each week. As this project progresses and nears its launch date of July 2nd, there is a lot of things to get excited about in the 110 degree Phoenix heat.
Here are the 5 things I am excited about on a Friday:
5 Things I’m Excited About on a Friday - 6/8/07

It’s time to get excited again because it is finally Friday.
Here are my five things I’m excited about.
1) I’m excited about a meeting I am having in a few hours with a sponsor that is interested in not only sponsoring the upcoming trip, but helping develop the idea into something much greater than it already is. The best sponsors are the ones that don’t just provide you with one resource (money), but are committed to help with whatever resources they have available. This is definitely one of those sponsors, so wish me luck.
2) Portland. Yes, going to Portland, Oregon on July 23rd-July 25th has me excited. Why? Based on the stories that have been rolling in, I’ve made the conclusion that Portland is the creative hotbed in the United States. The people that make up the city of Portland seem very passionate about what they do, and most of them are making money in a non-traditional type of way. I’m looking forward to seeing how they are making a living on doing something so 180 degrees of what everyone else is doing.
3) Couchsurfing.com. If you haven’t visited it, go there. It is a community filled with some of the coolest, most laid back people you will ever find. Couchsurfing.com is like a myspace for people willing to have travelers crash their couch for a night or two. In the past week, Jay has made some serious connections on couchsurfing, and we now tentatively only have five more cities to find a place to stay (Memphis, Madison, Las Vegas, Lawrence, and New Orleans).
4) The Pursue the Passion Ambassador Program. This program was created to provide interested students with a way to get involved without taking too much off their plate. Danielle Ouellette, a student from Northeastern, is a model for this program. She has helped us book an interview in New York (Steve Cody), invited all her friends to join our Pursue the Passion Facebook group, and has actively participated in the discussions on this blog. Those three p’s are what the Ambassador program is all about…planning, promoting, participating, and is something you can put on the resume.
5) Another program we have going is the “Passionger Program.” You have to sound it out for this one to make sense- Passion-ger- also sounds like – Passenger. This program picks students up for interviews that we do during the day, allowing them to personally benefit from the people we meet, and letting them be a “passionger” for the day. Feel free to contact me if you’d like to be a part of either of the two programs.
So those are my five things, what are YOU excited about?
5 Things I’m Excited About on a Friday

Fridays are always filled with excitement. You have the weekend to look forward to, one last day of the work week before two days of boundless freedom…yes, Fridays are awesome.
I can’t think of a better day to write about 5 things that I am extremely excited about with Pursue the Passion. So let this mark the first “5 things I’m excited about on a Friday” post, starting with these 5 things I’m excited about.
1) I’m excited that the 2007 Pursue the Passion Tour is exactly one month away. We are traveling 14,000 miles around the country, going to meet people and travel to cities and states I’ve never seen, and if that doesn’t fire you up I don’t know what will.
2) I’m excited that sponsors are seeing the benefits Pursue the Passion can provide to people, and that they are beginning to back our message. If you haven’t noticed, we’ve added a few AWESOME sponsors to our page in the last week, and are in negotiations with three more companies that we hope to announce in the next week.
3) I’m excited that our promotion month is over, and that our tour planning month is starting. We made the month of May our month to focus on getting the word out about our tour, and I’m excited that it worked. We appeared on a few blogs, and managed to double our traffic in the last month. But promotion is hard work, and I’m glad that we can start focusing on booking interviews now.
4) I’m excited that our first newsletter is going to come out next week, and I am even more excited about including an e-book with it. This e-book is the end result of our efforts with the 2006 tour, and will offer “timeless advice to the aspiring individual.” If you haven’t signed up yet sign up NOW!
5) I’m excited about a feature we will be launching on our website in the next few weeks that will offer advice applicable to YOUR career situation, and allow you to give advice to others. Our interviews do a great job at offering general advice, but this new feature will offer specific advice catered to your questions and needs.
So these are just 5 things I’m stoked about…what are you excited about today!?
