5 Things I’m Excited About on a Friday 6-15-07

June 15, 2007 | by brett | Permalink

These “Friday 5″ posts are getting tougher to write each week. As this project progresses and nears its launch date of July 2nd, there is a lot of things to get excited about in the 110 degree Phoenix heat.

Here are the 5 things I am excited about on a Friday:

1) I’m excited to welcome a new member to our team. He weighs 6 tons, is 29 feet wide, and at 12 years old, is the youngest member of our trip. Please welcome Arvydis Sabonis (named after the Lithuanian basketball sensation).
Same Model and Make, but not the actual Arvydas. Real pics to come...The Real Sabonis

2) I’m also excited to welcome another new member to the team, a former auditor and newly turned maverick Zach Hubbell. Zach has been my roommate for the last eleven months, and put in his two weeks on Monday to come on the 2007 PTP tour. (zach-hubbell.jpg)

3) One of my deepest regrets with the previous tour is that we did not film one single minute of the journey. This has been a chief motivator for me to get back on the road. I’m excited because we bought a camera this week and have been filming away at some of the things we’ve been doing…like making phone calls to people we have no business talking to, and going to the Apple store to see how to use iMovie. Our Handy Street Cam

4) Helio Phones. I’m excited that Helio sponsored us and supplied us with three Heat phones and service for the duration of the tour. These phones come equipped with a built in GPS system to make it easy to navigate the country, and has 3.1x megapixel cameras that take pictures and easily upload directly to flickr, myspace, and facebook. How could you not get excited about that!Jay excited with our new Helio phones

5) I’m excited about being asked to do a “photo shoot” for a publication we will be appearing in next week. I’ve never been asked to do a photo shoot for anything other than high school senior photos, so I’m excited about seeing the process, and the end result.

What are you excited about today????

Hey K & Brett,
On my bus ride into the city to be w/olivia, there are banners advertising the all star game, and if the poster is anything like the banner, it would be worth scoring. Really cool, kinda retro w/a ball splashing into the bay. Check it out when you are in the city. Keep looking up.
Take care Brett! Be safe. speak at you soon Kelly.xoxox
