Go for the Goal(Post)

Yesterday Jay and I were rapidly typing away at our computers to spread the message about our tour. We were emailing any and everyone to see if they knew of any extraordinarily passionate people we could interview and/or if they would link our site to theirs to increase our traffic a bit.
In the haste of a Monday, we decided to take a break. This break soon turned into an imaginative goal setting session, in which we set some outlandish, yet achievable goals. The goals that we came up with are as follows:
1) To not spend a single dollar on hotels. This means that we still have to find a place to stay in San Jose, Coeur d’Alene, Denver, Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Lawrence, Kansas City, Madison, South Bend, Columbus, Cleveland, Syracuse, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, Austin, and El Paso…we’ve got some work to do.
2) To grow our newsletter distribution list to 1,000 people by the start of our tour, which is July 1st. Currently, we are at 328 people. This means that we need to have 17 people sign up per day (at this point, I encourage you to click on the sidebar at left, enter your email, and start to receive bi-weekly newsletters that will cover everything PTP over the course of the tour).
3) To have 100 websites add us to their blog roll or link to us. We currently have 7 sites helping us out. Blogroll Me!
After identifying these goals, Jay had the brilliant idea of posting our goals on a nearby post next to our desk so we could strive for these goals everyday. Hence, we are now going towards the “goalpost.”
(The 1,000 is the number of people we want on the newsletter list, then there is the list of cities, and of course, the authentic WE BELIEVE Warriors towel straight from the Oakland Arena where the Golden State Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks).

Send me a link that I can send to all of my friends that once they click on the link, they can sign up to be on your newsletter distribution list. If all of the current newsletter subscribers send that link to just 4 people that sign up, then you will exceed 1,000. Make it EASY, FAST, and FUN. You’ll get there in no time. Then, with 1,000 subscribers, I bet you find a place to stay in all the cities you need. Keep up the good work.
